Reduce Getting Corn and Calluses
If you have been struggling to keep your toes from sliding while wearing heels, expect to obtain calluses. Friction and pressure are what cause corn as well as calluses to develop. These are hardened layers of skin that grow to protect the deeper layers from the harsh interior of old footwear.

The flexible hammertoes are easily curable as they are in the developmental stage, whereas rigid hammertoes are difficult to correct as joints are misaligned and tendons are tightened.
Take note that there are no visible signs of hammertoes. You will know you are developing hammertoes once you feel pain at the top of a bent toe or on the ball of your foot. Moreover, you may experience some restrictions when it comes to toe movement.
Avoid any surgical procedure by tossing those old, painful footwear and acquiring yourself a nicely fitted pair instead. Also, switch to sandals if the culprit is your heels. Sometimes, the solution can be as simple as resting your feet from wearing shoes. A pair of well-cushioned sandals will quickly do the trick.
Avoid Stress Fractures
You will know you really had the wrong pair of shoes once you get a stress fracture. This type of fracture is caused by the overuse of shoes in the wrong size. The result of breaking in your shoes can be as grave as getting a small crack in your bone.
The weight-bearing bones of the foot are vulnerable to stress fractures because they absorb most of the pressure when walking. You will recognize a stress fracture through symptoms such as swelling on the top of the foot or ankle as well as bruising and tenderness on the fracture site. Another symptom of a fracture is if the pain diminishes during rest. If you observe these symptoms, have them immediately checked by a doctor.
